Home Repair Program

 

This program is made available through the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners, State of Florida, HUD Grants and Pinellas County Housing Trust Fund. The purpose of the HOME REPAIR LOAN PROGRAM is to preserve the existing housing stock and encourage neighborhood improvement efforts. The program provides home repair loans to low-income and moderate-income homeowners at 0% (zero percent) interest. The program helps with the home repair process including identifying needed repairs, developing work plans, helping the owner to review proposals, and helping make sure the contracted work is completed before funds are released to contractors.

Program features include: 0% interest loans, 15 year term, up to $45,000

Household Income for the County ($49,680 for 1 person, $71,040 for 4 persons,

$82,440 for household of 6, etc) and the property cannot exceed an assessed value of

$151,000 as listed by the Property Appraiser's Office

Eligible repairs include a very broad range of needs: from roofs, plumbing, air

conditioning, windows, electrical, kitchen, bathroom, to adding living space to

landscaping to fire and safety improvements. Severely disabled residents can obtain

up to an additional $10,000 to retrofit their residence.
